EXECUTIVE MEETING

Present: Barbara Lease, Joyce Petter, Bob Larsen, Richard Wheet, Homer Jones, Ed Price, Jeff Looper, Terry Holmberg, Tinker Clift.
Absent: None
Department Senators
The current list of Senators submitted were reviewed. There are 34 eligible departments. Currently, there are 24 represented.
Faculty Newsletter
Bob Larsen (communications chair) suggested the senate publish a faculty newsletter without editing by the marketing department. The Executive Committee was in favor. Richard Wheet (Senate President) will ask Dr Ellis if marketing can be bypassed.
Flex-time
The current system of flex-time was discussed. There is a vast difference between implementation between departments. Dr. Ellis will be consulted on this issue.
8-5 Workweek
The 8-5 day was discussed. Salary exempt faculty should be treated as professionals in this regard, particularly with the new emphasis on testing during the evening and weekends. Richard Wheet (faculty senate president) will consult Dr Ellis on this view.
Senate Meeting Room
The Faculty Senate will use Food Service for their meetings until the end of the year. After December, the Connally Center is reserved.

Governance Policy Change
Waco faculty governance policy is being changed. Faculty were not consulted on the issue. Richard Wheet (faculty senate president) will bring this to Dr Ellis's attention.
System Faculty Ranking Proposal
Homer Jones (Senate Parliamentarian) discussed the last proposal before the Dean's Council. We will wait until the next meeting to determine the current status.
